Greetings from the National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association

Welcome to the heart of Entlebucher passion in North America. As the official AKC Parent Breed Club for the Entlebucher Mountain Dog, we proudly champion this rare and remarkable Swiss breed.

Since our founding in 1998, NEMDA has been dedicated to preserving the integrity, health, and heritage of the Entlebucher. From responsible breeding to fostering informed ownership and lifelong stewardship, we are here to support both the dogs and the people who love them.

American Kennel Club ReCOGinTION 

• In June 2007,  Entlebuchers became eligible to be enrolled in the American Kennel Club (AKC) Foundation Stock Service (FSS) program allowing the Entlebucher Mountain Dogs participation opportunities in AKC’s Companion Sporting Events. NEMDA petitioned for the ability to participate in our breed’s historic function of herding. Companion events include Obedience, Agility, Rally Obedience, and Tracking.
• In May 2008, the AKC named NEMDA as the AKC Parent Club to represent the Entlebucher Mountain Dog. 
• Entlebuchers became eligible to compete in the AKC Miscellaneous Class on January 1, 2009.
• AKC gave Entlebucher Mountain Dogs full breed recognition on January 1, 2011.
